Notes of Interest:

Junior Journey: AM Racing will embark on its junior year journey in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025 with driver Harrison Burton for the entire 33-race tour, continuing with Friday night’s running of the Wawa 250 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

Future Focused: In September 2024, AM Racing announced that NASCAR Cup Series winner Harrison Burton would join the family-owned operation to pilot the team’s No. 25 Ford Mustang, beginning with the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opener from Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on February 15, 2025.

Burton, a native of Huntersville, N.C., has been a staple in the NASCAR Cup Series for the past three seasons but will embrace a return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and continue his relationship as a driver of the Ford blue oval.

Burton, 24, arrives on the scene at AM Racing after a 108-race stint driving for the historic Wood Brothers Racing team.

Best with DEX: DEX (DEX Imaging) will continue its long-standing partnership with Harrison Burton and join AM Racing for several races this season, including Friday night’s 100-lap challenge at the “World Center of Racing.”

DEX Imaging is the largest independent dealer of document imaging technology in the United States. DEX sells and services the broadest selection of copiers, printers and data management solutions in the industry, such as Konica Minolta, Canon, Sharp, Ricoh, Xerox, and Kyocera, with annual revenue exceeding $500 Million.

What makes DEX unique is its people, whose combined knowledge of cutting-edge business technologies and depth of service experience are unmatched. DEX Imaging’s success is directly tied to its mission: to help customers of all sizes drive down document-related expenses while improving productivity.

Playoff Push: The penultimate superspeedway event of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season sets the stage for a pivotal three-race stretch that will determine the 12-team Playoff grid following the regular season finale at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway on September 6.

The action begins under the lights this weekend at Daytona International Speedway, where the high banks of the 2.5-mile superspeedway will host the third drafting-style battle of the year.

From there, teams will trek to the Pacific Northwest for a high-stakes road course showdown at Portland International Raceway before closing out the regular season in the Midwest at World Wide Technology Raceway, located in the shadow of the iconic Gateway Arch outside St. Louis.

Heading into Daytona, Harrison Burton and AM Racing cling to the 12th and final Playoff spot with a 30-point cushion over Harrison’s cousin, Jeb Burton and his Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport team.

Just behind them sits fellow Ford Performance driver Ryan Sieg and his family-owned RSS Racing team, 38 points out of the cut.

With only three chances left to lock into the postseason, the intensity surrounding the cutline is expected to rival the fight for the win itself.

Harrison Burton NASCAR Xfinity Series Daytona International Speedway Stats: Friday night’s Wawa 250 will mark Harrison Burton’s sixth career NASCAR Xfinity Series start at the 2.5-mile superspeedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.

In five prior appearances at the “World Center of Racing,” Burton has never finished outside the top 10, collecting three top-five finishes highlighted by a runner-up effort in the 2020 NASCAR Racing Experience 300 with Joe Gibbs Racing.

Earlier this season, Burton impressed in his AM Racing debut at Daytona. After qualifying was rained out, he charged from a 32nd-place starting position, overcame an early-race spin, and rallied to a strong sixth-place finish in the No. 25 Dead On Tools Ford Mustang — his first top-10 of the 2025 campaign.

Additionally, Burton has six NASCAR Cup Series starts at Daytona, including his first-career victory in the 2024 running of last August’s Coke Zero Sugar 400, which handed the iconic Wood Brothers Racing their 100th Cup Series triumph.

Also, Burton has one NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series start at Daytona and won the 2019 season-opening ARCA Menards Series race at Daytona, driving for the potent Venturini Motorsports.

With an average finish of fifth at Daytona in Xfinity Series competition, the Huntersville, N.C. native enters this weekend confident in his ability to deliver another superspeedway performance that could further solidify his Playoff position.

Harrison Burton NASCAR Xfinity Series Career Stats: Entering Daytona, Burton has 98 career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts to his credit with four wins, 28 top-five and 58 top-10 finishes, and a championship-best result of eighth, twice in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Burton’s four wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series occurred during the 2020 season. Burton, the son of former NASCAR driver and current television analyst Jeff Burton, captured the checkered flag at Auto Club (Calif.) Speedway, Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, respectively.

Burton maintains a solid Xfinity Series average finishing position of 12.4 in four years of competition.

In addition to the 98 Xfinity Series starts, he has achieved 109 NASCAR Cup Series starts, 40 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts and 52 career starts across the ARCA Menards Series platforms.

Watkins Glen International | Mission 200 at The Glen Race Recap: The NASCAR Xfinity Series made its annual trip to the Finger Lakes of New York, tackling the iconic Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International for the penultimate road course race of the 2025 season.

After posting the 22nd-fastest lap in practice, Harrison Burton found speed in qualifying, putting his No. 25 AirBox Ford Mustang 17th on the starting grid.

From the drop of the green flag, Burton and crew chief Danny Efland executed their strategy to perfection, flipping Stage 1 and collecting five valuable stage points.

In Stage 2, Burton remained steady inside the top 15, maintaining track position and positioning himself for a strong push in the final stage.

As the Mission 200 at The Glen entered its closing laps, Burton crept closer to the top 10 and managed to narrowly avoid a massive multicar accident on the backstretch that brought out a nearly one-hour red flag.

When the race resumed, Burton battled forward and secured a 10th-place finish — his ninth top-10 of the season and the second top-10 outing of the year for partner AirBox.

More importantly, the result helped keep Burton above the Playoff cutline with just three races remaining in the regular season.

Thanks For Your Support: With 69 percent of the 2025 Xfinity season complete, AM Racing and Harrison Burton would like to thank their partners for their continued support: AIRBOX Air Purifier, Blue Wolf Cleaner & Degreasers, Dead On Tools, DEX Imaging, Eagle Rentals, Flying Circle, Mechanix Wear, Morton Buildings, Racing Radios, Volt Batteries and WIX Filters.

From the Pit Box: Veteran race engineer and former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Danny Efland is Harrison Burton’s crew chief.

He will serve as crew chief for his 28th career NASCAR Xfinity Series race — and his third race at the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway in a leadership role on Friday night.

In his previous 27 Xfinity Series starts, he has collected one pole (Daytona International Speedway | February 2016), three top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.

Harrison Burton Quoteboard:

On Daytona International Speedway: “I’m really excited to get back to Daytona this weekend. We had a great run there in February with our AM Racing team, coming from the back and finishing sixth, and that gave us a lot of confidence in what we’re capable of on superspeedways.

“We’ve learned a lot since then and feel like we’re only getting stronger as a group. With the Playoffs right around the corner, every position matters and hopefully we can build on what we did earlier this year and put our No. 25 DEX Imaging Ford Mustang in contention again Friday night.”

On Keys to Success at Daytona International Speedway: “The keys to Daytona are always the same — you’ve got to maximize stage points early, stay out of the big wrecks and make sure you’re in position when it counts at the end.

“Last August, I was fortunate enough to go to Victory Lane at Daytona in the Cup Series, and that win locked me into the Playoffs.

“If we could go back-to-back and win here in Xfinity, it would mean just as much — not only would it be AM Racing’s first Xfinity Series win, but it would also punch our ticket into the Playoffs.

“That’s the kind of opportunity we’ve been working for all season and we’re ready to go make the most of it Friday night.”

On Expectations for Daytona International Speedway: “Anytime you go to Daytona, you know it’s going to be stressful and chaotic, especially this part of the season with so much on the line.

“Winning is at a premium and everyone’s going to be fighting for every inch of track position.

“For us, the focus is on controlling what we can — putting ourselves in position to earn as many stage points as possible, while staying out of the big wrecks and making sure we’re there at the end with a chance.

“If we can do that, I think we’ll have a great shot to deliver a big night for AM Racing.”

On Battle for Playoff Cutline: “With three races left, we know exactly where we stand and being above the cutline is something we don’t take for granted.

“The last two races at Iowa and Watkins Glen have been really important for us — we’ve been able to execute, earn stage points and build a little bit of a cushion.

“That gives our AM Racing team some confidence, but at the same time, we know how quickly things can change.

“Our focus is on keeping that momentum going, continuing to do the little things right and putting ourselves in the best position to not just stay above the cutline, but hopefully extend that margin even more.”

On Watkins Glen Finish: “We knew going into Watkins Glen that execution was going to be key, and I’m proud of the way our AM Racing team battled all day.

“We put ourselves in position to grab some stage points early, and that really helped keep us on the right side of the Playoff cutline. The race got pretty wild there at the end, but we stayed out of trouble and came away with another solid top-10 finish for our AirBox Ford Mustang.

“Every point matters right now and races like that give us a confidence boost heading into this final stretch.”

On 2025 Season Outlook: “I still genuinely believe we can continue to turn some heads in 2025. Now that we’re past the halfway point, our goals haven’t changed, they’re still within reach.

“This AM Racing team has what it takes to fight our way above the Playoff cutline and stay there.

“We’ve got a great group of people and partners who continue to believe in what we’re building. Nothing would mean more to me than delivering AM Racing its first Xfinity Series win, locking into the Playoffs, and making a serious run at the championship.”
