Junior Journey: AM Racing will embark on its junior year journey in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025 with driver Harrison Burton for the entire 33-race tour, continuing with Saturday afternoon’s running of the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.

Future Focused: In September, AM Racing announced that NASCAR Cup Series winner Harrison Burton would join the family-owned operation to pilot the team’s No. 25 Ford Mustang, beginning with the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opener from Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on February 15, 2025.

Burton, a native of Huntersville, N.C., has been a staple in the NASCAR Cup Series for the past three seasons but will embrace a return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and continue his relationship as a driver of the Ford blue oval.

Burton, 24, arrives on the scene at AM Racing after a 108-race stint driving for the historic Wood Brothers Racing team.

Best with DEX: DEX (DEX Imaging) will continue its long-standing partnership with Harrison Burton and join AM Racing for several races this season, including Saturday afternoon’s Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.

DEX Imaging is the largest independent dealer of document imaging technology in the United States. Throwback Alert: The spring NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Darlington Raceway traditionally marks the official “NASCAR Throwback” weekend, providing teams with the opportunity to celebrate motorsports history through retro paint schemes.

For this year’s event, AM Racing and driver Harrison Burton are paying tribute to Harrison’s father, Jeff Burton, by running the iconic “Citgo Superguard” scheme that Jeff drove during the 2001 NASCAR Cup Series season with Roush Racing.

AM Racing isn’t alone in honoring Jeff Burton this weekend. Viking Motorsports and driver Matt DiBenedetto will also roll out a Cup Series throwback inspired by Burton’s career.

A lighthearted social media rivalry has sparked between Harrison Burton and Matt DiBenedetto over their matching tributes — one that’s sure to add some extra fun to the Throwback Weekend storyline.

Harrison Burton NASCAR Xfinity Series Darlington Raceway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 will mark Burton’s fifth Xfinity Series start at the 1.33-mile speedway, one of the most unique tracks on the Xfinity Series tour.

Burton has delivered one top-five and three top-10 finishes, with a worst finish of 11th.

He earned a track-best of second after starting sixth in the fall 2021 edition of the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Burton has delivered one win and two top-10 finishes in his previous three starts. In 2020, Burton scored his fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series win of his career after starting 10th in the 2020 edition of the Draft Top 250, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Additionally, Burton carries an average Xfinity track finish of 9.3.

Also, the Huntersville, N.C. native has six NASCAR Cup Series starts at Darlington, delivering a track-best of sixth after starting 14th in the 2023 edition of the Goodyear 400 driving for Wood Brothers Racing.

Harrison Burton NASCAR Xfinity Series Career Stats: Entering Darlington, Burton has 82 career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts to his credit with four wins, 26 top-five and 52 top-10 finishes, and a championship best result of eighth, twice in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Burton’s four wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series occurred during the 2020 season. Burton, the son of former NASCAR driver and current television analyst Jeff Burton, captured the checkered flag at Auto Club (Calif.) Speedway, Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, respectively.

In addition to the 82 Xfinity Series starts, he has achieved 109 NASCAR Cup Series starts, 40 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts and 52 career starts across the ARCA Menards Series platforms.

Martinsville Speedway | Marine Corps 250 Race Recap: The first of two trips to the small town of Martinsville, Va., began with the Marine Corps 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the historic Martinsville Speedway.

After a solid showing in practice behind the wheel of the No. 25 Dead On Tools Ford Mustang, Harrison Burton turned up the speed in qualifying, clocking the fifth-fastest lap—his best starting spot of the season and the second-best qualifying effort in AM Racing’s Xfinity Series history.

Once the green flag waved, Burton held strong inside the top 10. Despite battling an ill-handling car, he fought hard and was poised to earn stage points at the end of Stage 1. However, his progress was halted when he was collected in an on-track incident triggered by an overly aggressive move from another driver.

The AM Racing crew made quick repairs and got Burton back on track, but the remainder of the race proved challenging. Bounced around like a pinball in the tight quarters of Martinsville, Burton and the No. 25 team ultimately had to settle for a frustrating 22nd-place finish.

Thanks For Your Support: With 21 percent of the 2025 Xfinity season complete, AM Racing and Harrison Burton would like to thank their associate marketing partners for their support: AIRBOX Air Purifier, Dead On Tools, Eagle Rentals, Flying Circle, Mechanix Wear, Morton Buildings, Racing Radios, Volt Batteries and WIX Filters.

From the Pit Box: Veteran race engineer and former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Danny Efland is Harrison Burton’s crew chief.

He will be crew chief for his 12th career NASCAR Xfinity Series race, his first at Darlington Raceway, on Saturday afternoon.

In his previous 11 Xfinity Series starts, he has collected one pole (Daytona International Speedway | February 2016), one top-five and four top-10 finishes.

Harrison Burton Quoteboard:

On Darlington Raceway: “Darlington is always one of my favorite weekends, being such a historic venue and holding so much history in our sport.

“It’s going to be a tough race, but a short race, it’s going to be hot, it’s going to be really slick with the worn-out surface and we just have to make sure we have a good handling No. 25 DEX Imaging Ford Mustang.”

On Keys to Success at Darlington Raceway: “Obviously, avoiding as many Darlington Raceway stripes is always crucial, but you really want to have a good balance on the car and be able to rotate through the corners.

On Throwback Scheme: “It’s super special to run Dad’s old Citgo Superguard scheme this weekend at Darlington.

“To bring it back on track and honor his legacy during Throwback Weekend means a lot to me and my family. Hopefully, we can make some new memories with it on Saturday.”

On Martinsville Speedway Finish: “Man, that one stings. We had a really solid car and felt like we were in a good spot early on to contend for stage points, maybe even a top-10 at the end of the race. But once we got caught up in that mess, it was just survival mode from there.

“The guys worked hard to get the car patched up, but after that, we were just getting bounced around like a pinball. It’s frustrating, for sure — we know we’re capable of more.”

On 2025 Season Outlook: “I truly believe we can turn some heads in 2025. The goals we’ve set for ourselves aren’t just realistic—they’re within reach, and I know this AM Racing team has what it takes to execute and get into the Playoffs.”

“We’ve got a great group of people and partners who are fully behind what we’re building this season. Nothing would mean more to me than delivering AM Racing its first Xfinity Series win, locking into the Playoffs, and making a run at the championship.”

“It’s shaping up to be a really fun and exciting year.”
