Future Focused: In September, AM Racing announced that NASCAR Cup Series winner Harrison Burton would join the family-owned operation to pilot the team’s No. 25 Ford Mustang, beginning with the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opener from Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on February 15, 2025.

Burton, a native of Huntersville, N.C., has been a staple in the NASCAR Cup Series for the past three seasons but will embrace a return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and continue his relationship as a driver of the Ford blue oval.

Burton, 24, arrives on the scene at AM Racing after a 108-race stint driving for the historic Wood Brothers Racing team.

Best with DEX: DEX (DEX Imaging) will continue its long-standing partnership with Harrison Burton and join AM Racing for several races this season, including Saturday afternoon’s SciAps 300 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

Additionally, Burton carries an average Xfinity track finish of 6.3.

Also, the Huntersville, N.C. native has four NASCAR Cup Series starts at Bristol, delivering a track-best of 16th after starting 27th in the 2022 edition of the BASS Pro Shops NRA Night Race driving for Wood Brothers Racing.

Burton, the second-generation racer, also has two NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Harrison Burton NASCAR Xfinity Series Career Stats: Entering Bristol, Burton has 83 career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts to his credit with four wins, 26 top-five and 52 top-10 finishes, and a championship best result of eighth, twice in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, respectively.

Burton maintains a solid Xfinity Series average finishing position of 12.4 in four years of competition.

Darlington Raceway | Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 Race Recap: The NASCAR Xfinity Series made its lone stop at Darlington Raceway for the annual throwback weekend, headlined by the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200.

Harrison Burton turned heads early, piloting the No. 25 DEX Imaging Ford Mustang in a striking throwback scheme honoring his father, Jeff Burton, with the classic Citgo Roush Racing colors. After a strong showing in practice, Burton backed it up with a solid qualifying effort, clocking in 14th-fastest in time trials.

From there, the AM Racing team wasted no time diving into strategy. A late-race caution in Stage 1 gave crew chief Danny Efland the window to bring Burton down pit road for four fresh Goodyear tires and fuel. Restarting deep in the field, Burton charged forward with renewed grip, storming through the pack to win Stage 1—collecting 10 stage points and a valuable Playoff point.

Burton restarted up front in Stage 2 and continued to show speed, maintaining strong track position and finishing fifth to add more stage points to his haul.

Facing a tire disadvantage in the final stage, Burton and the team hoped for another caution to bolt on their final set. That break came with an 11-lap sprint to the finish, where Burton rallied from 28th on the restart to bring home a hard-earned 13th-place finish.

When the dust settled, Burton and the No. 25 team secured the fourth-most points scored in the 147-lap event—an impressive outing in a race that demanded grit, patience, and savvy strategy.

From the Pit Box: Veteran race engineer and former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Danny Efland is Harrison Burton’s crew chief.

He will be crew chief for his 13th career NASCAR Xfinity Series race, his first at Bristol Motor Speedway, on Saturday afternoon.

In his previous 12 Xfinity Series starts, he has collected one pole (Daytona International Speedway | February 2016), one top-five and four top-10 finishes.

Harrison Burton Quoteboard:

On Bristol Motor Speedway: “I’m excited to get to Bristol this weekend. It’s a place that’s always had a special energy, and it really rewards drivers who can stay aggressive and manage the race’s rhythm.

“After the speed we showed at Darlington, I feel like we’re heading in the right direction as a team. If we keep building on that momentum, avoid any trouble and be mistake-free, we’ll be in a great spot to contend.”

On Keys to Success at Bristol Motor Speedway: “One of the biggest keys to running well at Bristol is staying ahead of how the track changes. The groove moves around a lot during the race — especially with rubber building up or getting cleaned off during cautions —so you’ve got to be on your toes.

“It’s a place where you really have to communicate well with your crew chief and make the right adjustments. If you can stay on top of that and keep track position, you give yourself a shot at the end. It’s all about execution.”

On Darlington Raceway Finish: “It was a wild race, for sure. We had a fast car, especially on the long runs, and I’m proud of how we could capitalize on the strategy in Stage 1. Winning that stage was a big boost for our team.

“We didn’t have enough laps we needed at the end to really go fight for a top-10, but coming from 28th to 13th in the final laps says a lot about this AM Racing group.

“I’m grateful for everyone’s effort and honored to run a throwback to my dad — it made this weekend even more special.”

On 2025 Season Outlook: “I truly believe we can turn some heads in 2025. The goals we’ve set for ourselves aren’t just realistic—they’re within reach, and I know this AM Racing team has what it takes to execute and get into the Playoffs.”

“We’ve got a great group of people and partners who are fully behind what we’re building this season. Nothing would mean more to me than delivering AM Racing its first Xfinity Series win, locking into the Playoffs, and making a run at the championship.”

“It’s shaping up to be a really fun and exciting year.”
