NASCAR Xfinity Series Driver
Harrison Burton 2025 AM Racing

After spending the last two years as the full-time driver for the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Cup Series, Harrison Burton will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025 and look to earn AM Racing its first career Xfinity Series win.

Burton arrives on the scene to the Statesville, N.C.-based team on the heels of earning his first career NASCAR Cup Series win in a thrilling finish at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, cementing the legendary Virginia-based team with their historic 100th win.

The win also propelled the team into the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs with Burton ending up 16th overall when the checkered flag waved at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway this past November.

AM Racing has hired former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and former Cup Series engineer Danny Efland to lead the organization in their third year of full-time Xfinity Series competition. Burton kicked off his 2023 racing season in winning fashion, emerging victorious in the season-opening IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Daytona International Speedway. The 23-year-old driver went on to score a season-best finish of sixth in the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway and recorded his career-best qualifying effort of third for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona over the course of the Cup Series season.

Before moving up to NASCAR’s premier series in 2022 where the rookie driver claimed a notable podium finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Burton proved to be a perennial playoff contender in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with four wins, 26 top-five and 49 top-10 finishes and was recognized as the 2020 Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year.

The Huntersville, North Carolina, native established himself as one of the top young talents competing in marquee late model events across the country. A winner of the prestigious Rattler 250, Burton is also a pole winner in the Snowball Derby, one of the top late model events in the country. He is the 2017 ARCA Menards Series East champion and has three wins in the ARCA Menards Series.

Burton is part of a family with a racing history. He has remained focused on honing his craft and forging a name for himself.
