Texas Pride: Two Texas-based companies will return as partners for Austin Wayne Self this weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway.
The Statesville, N.C.-based team will sport the signage of GO TEXAN and AM Technical Solutions on the No. 22 Chevrolet Silverado for the 16th NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race of the season.

Banner Year: Approaching the stretch zone of the 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, Austin Wayne Self and AM Racing are enjoying a banner year.

He is mirroring his 2018 Truck Series season where he finished a career-best 12th in the championship standings maintaining an average finishing position of 17.0.
Austin Wayne Self Truck Series Gateway Stats: Friday night’s Toyota 200 presented by CK Power will mark Self’s fifth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the 1.25-mile track.
In his previous four efforts, the Austin, Texas native has delivered a track-best of 16th during the 2018 Truck Series, while backing up the performance a year later of 17th in 2019 after starting a track best of 15th.
He has completed 582 of the 640 laps available for a 91-percentage lap completion.
Austin Wayne Self Truck Series Speedway Stats: At NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tracks classified as a speedway, Self has made 70 starts throughout his career with four top-10 finishes, while also carrying an average finishing position of 18.9.
Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International | United Rentals 176 Race Recap: In the most recent NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International, Austin Wayne Self-made his 122nd NCWTS start.
Starting 20th based on the metrics set by NASCAR without practice or qualifying
Self-contended for his third top-10 finish of the season in a very physical road course event but settled for 16th in a lightning shorten event.

This weekend marks his 19th race as crew chief for Self and in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. During his tenure, he guided Self to an average finish of 16.9 during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, respectively.

On World Wide Technology Raceway: “We had such a fast No. 22 GO TEXAN | AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet, last year but got turned by another competitor and ruined our race.
“I’ve been waiting for this race to circle back on the calendar for a shot at redemption and hopefully finish what we started in 2020. I really want to get our team another top-10 finish and hope we can accomplish that on Friday night.”
On Watkins Glen: “It was a decent effort from our AM Racing team. It was definitely a chaotic race start to finish, but we made some gains throughout the race but unfortunately didn’t have the strategy at the end to propel us back into the top-10.
“It’s a bummer that we didn’t make the Playoffs, but I’m still very proud of the effort of this AM Racing team. We still have plenty to prove and accomplish before the end of the season in November.”
On 2021 Season: “We gave it our best, but came up a little short of making the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs this season. Still, I am incredibly proud of our team for the strides we have made this season and look forward to continuing our progress for the remaining seven races of the 2021 season.”
